Harvesting the Damask rose.
Mia Sala is the only place in Spain where Damask roses are grown for cosmetics and guests are invited to take part in the harvest. Only four weeks a year do you have the chance to join this enchanting, fragrant process.
How the experience unfolds
10:00 — We meet at the farm entrance. You'll receive special aprons with a pocket for roses, where you'll collect the flowers.
20 minutes — A short walk through the field. I'll explain why roses are picked in the morning before the sun gets too hot, how to recognise a perfect bloom, and what happens to the petals afterwards.
20 minutes — You pick roses without gloves. Each rose makes a little snap when you pick it – and it's very relaxing. You fill your apron as you move from bush to bush, just as farmers did a hundred years ago.
This is not a workshop. This is a moment inside a real process.
After the harvest
You take photos – the light is soft at this time, and the field is in full bloom. My farm isn't a glossy gallery, but there are enough roses for unforgettable pictures.
I treat you to RosaMia Elixir – my drink made from fermented Damask rose petals. Cold rose water in a paper cup. Refreshing, calming, easy to drink.
I explain:
What a hydrosol is and how it differs from essential oil
How petals become natural cosmetics
Why my cosmetics don't smell "like French perfume" but like a real rose
You can smell everything, taste it, and buy if you wish.
Before you leave, you take home a bag of the roses you picked yourself. Brew some tea at home and remember this morning.
Why this is a special experience
You switch off your phone for an hour
You breathe air filled with essential oils
You make a simple, meditative movement with your hands
You don't leave with a souvenir, but with a living memory and a bag of roses

Important
This is not a staged performance. This is a living farm. My field is not a glossy gallery. I am not a franchise or a tourist route. There is no perfect picture here. There is me, my roses, and a morning that smells of rose.
If you need gloss – this might not be for you.
If you want to feel – you're in the right place.
With care, Olesya
